Forever Learning

"The more that you read, the more things you'll know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
Dr Seuss

I believe learning is something we should all strive to do on a daily basis. I love learning. I love reading. It hasn't been something I have always loved though.

In High School I did it because we had too. I didn't develop a real love for reading until College and even then it was only for books that I chose to read, not the required reading.

It wasn't until I was done with school that I really saw the need and gained a passion for learning.

There is so much knowledge at our finger tips and we seldom take advantage of it.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. How learning is such a huge part of our lives & I have come to the conclusion that it is something I need to focus on more in my life if I want to truly achieve my goals.

Think about it.... if I want to become fit & healthy. I need to learn everything I can about it. If I want to be better at managing my time, then I need to study time management to find the best solution for me. After all what works for someone else may  not be the best answer for me.

I love this quote. There is no sure method of learning. If you want to learn something you can do it if you apply yourself and make the time.

I look forward to learning everything I can to better my life & hopefully help you along the way as well.

Some of the areas I'm looking forward to learning more about are:
* Time Management
* Fitness & Health
* Writing
* Blogging
* Cooking (I'm literally going to have learn from scratch! No pun intended... I cannot cook!)
* and lots lots more!

What do you think about learning? Is it something you strive to do regularly?
I'd love to hear from you :D

  1. I love all those things you've listed! I love love love to learn and research new things. That's my favorite thing to do. I especially need to learn about time management since starting a blog, writing, 4 kids, homeschooling, etc, etc, etc. So make sure you pass on the good information!

  3. Keia, I agree with most of the things you touched on here. I love learning too and I agree that it is hard to learn things your really want to when in school. I am still in school but I feel like since it is graduate school, I am learning things I choose. In terms of outside of school, I try very hard to improve my knowledge every day. even if it is just reading books or different kinds of news. Of course being new to blogging, I have been reading constantly about it and trying to learn the different aspects of blogging. It's been very interesting and enjoyable! Thanks for this post.

    PS: I am excited to join you on the cooking journey! I need to increase my skills there too :)

    1. I think you might be right about the long lost blog twin! I just read your Assumptions: Scratching the surface post! And yes cooking is definitely not even on a list of things that I do well! Take tonight for example I was actually going to try cooking for my hubby and baby girl but mom text me about a half hour ago saying they had dinner starting and wanted us to come over ha! I jumped at the chance.

      I just added you as a friend on Facebook. I look forward to talking more :D
      have a great night!

  9. Great post. I have discovered a love for reading this year. I need to work on my writing skills so that I can improve my blog. However, the more I write the better I get. Practice makes perfect. :)

    I found your blog on Bloggy Mom's Blog Hop.

  10. I've been reading a lot ever since I learned how to. I love learning new things, and I love reading. Since I became a Mom and an entrepreneur, I haven't had time to read much, but I will find the time as soon as the hunt for the first clients is over.

  11. I love this post! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE to read! My problem is that I pick up a book, and the WORLD disappears! :) I could use some time management lessons, and I'd really like to learn how to STAY MOTIVATED! :)

    Good luck!

  12. I love learning deeply and passionately about things that interest me. I hear things in movies, conversations and while traveling make notes and then go google and research it to death. It simply makes me feel alive and so appreciative of the world we live in. Stopping by from Blog Formatting.com blog commenting weekend love the look of your blog!. Lisa

  13. Keia, learning is a lifelong habit for me. I believe strongly that I'm supposed to learn at least one new thing every day. I'm animated by learning and strive to impart what I learn to others in whatever way possible, including blogging! Glad to encounter a fellow lover of learning!

  15. My love of learning totally kicked in after I didn't "have" to learn. Once I was out of college, I craved knowledge. I am constantly reading and learning new things.

  16. Found your site through the Aloha Friday link up (I'm @ #116) and really love your exploration of self improvement and learning. It really is so important to set learning goals, something I'm realizing more me more myself. I think I'm learning how to balance motherhood without losing myself on a day to day basis. It definitely takes work!
