Taking Chances

I recently read an article called "Free Spirit" by Susan Campbell Cross in Shape Magazine. She talks about feeling stuck & not accomplishing some of her dreams. I was immediately drawn in as I have been dealing with this myself lately.

Susan quoted Dr Julie Gurner a clinical psychologist & life coach, who said

This is something that I struggle with. I am a planner, meaning I think everything out in my mind before acting. Sometimes this "planning" makes me over think things and then I chicken out and don't move forward.

This quote embodies what I am trying to overcome in my life. FEAR.

We need to take chances & make life what we want it to be!

Believe in ourselves!

Have you taken any chances lately? Are you a planner like myself?

I usually jump right in and don't always think things through. My husband is much better at planning than me!!

Hi Keia - I'm behind you in SITS roll call today. I saw your blog title "taking chances" and was intrigued. I'm starting a 31 day blog challenge; I'm a little nervous, but I'm determined to see it through. I'm a planner and its hard t o go with the flow, which is why me putting myself out there is huge. Best of luck as you strive toward your goals!

I am a bit of an over thinker myself, but I'm working on it :) Thanks for the reminder!

Oh boy, I am very guilty of over planing and chickening out of many things because I was overthinking. Thnak you for reminding us about this. I'll have to look up that article.

Total planner. I enjoy rules and structure very much. Not a big fan of change. You get the picture! ;) Stopping by from the SITS Sharefest on Twitter.-Ashley

I am a planner, too. It's very difficult for me to put myself out there and take any kind of chance/risk. I don't handle change well at all. It's something I know I need to work on. Stopping by from SITS!

The only planning BB does is dinner- and even then! ; ) Here from the Meandering Monday Hop & wishing you a great week. BB2U
Keia - I can truly relate to what you're saying in taking chances. It's ironic that I just recently wrote a post on my site about a chance I was taking in making my first video. The story is called, "Change and My First Video".

It's amazing how so many of us are feeling and going through similar things.

Thank you for posting. I found you on FB by way of a share by "Blog Formatting".

My most recent risk taking was quitting my job after almost 20 years to become a stay at home mom. But it was something that I felt like I needed to do for me. These last few months spent focusing on my kids have been amazing but it is still scary with only one income. Thank you so much for linking up with This Momma's Meandering Mondays, hope to see you again! Have a great week!

I think when you take a chance on something, and a leap of faith that you CAN do something that makes you nervous, you typically find that you really can do it. And that's such a confidence builder! And that quote is absolutely right, even if you aren't successful, you still feel motivated because you survived it. Loved this post!

I suck at planning and take a lot of chances. Something I need to work on because I think there has to be a balance of both.
Dropping by from SITS! Have a lovely day!

As an entrepreneur, I've learned to take chances more often. If you don't take chances you'll never know what could happen. I'm a planner too, but I've found that sometimes it's better to put the plans aside and just go for it!

I am also a planner, but I love that quote because it pushes us planners past the planning stage and into the doing stage. I hope all of your plans come to fruition!
